The signing ceremony held on November 4th, 2004 in Hanoi is therefore a testament to the sustainable partnership and the goal of leveraging each party's strengths, especially in the fields of information technology and sustainable energy as a means of forging new pathways, putting innovative ideas into practice, and aiding the growth of renewable energy in Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Nguyen Duy Giang, deputy general director of PV Power, shared that PV Power represents a major player in the electricity industry and that its development strategy can be viewed as crucial to the Vietnamese energy transformation process.
Along with LNG power projects, PV Power intends to construct renewable energy projects in the near future, including solar, wind, pumped storage hydropower, biomass and electricity from waste in a bid to address the pressing need for electricity for the purpose of continued economic development. In order to support the sustainable energy transition process, PV Power will concurrently construct new fuel generation projects, such as green hydrogen/ammonia, to gradually replace fossil fuels at thermal power plants.
The signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between PV Power REC and its partners will serve to enable PV Power accomplish the aforementioned objectives.

Lee Hee Sang, general director of Southeast Asia and Oceania of KOTRA, said during the signing ceremony that research conducted by international organisations shows that Asian countries are more vulnerable to environmental problems and climate change than other regions. Additionally, given that the nation is regarded as one of the world's biggest construction sites, the issue of electricity output in the country requires attention. Signing this MoU will thereby help to resolve the issues listed above.
Additionally, he hopes that more green energy and renewable energy projects will be created as a result of this MoU's signature in order to better serve Vietnam whilst strengthening mutual ties with the Republic of Korea.
Sung Seung Hoon, general director of PVA Energy Solutions, states that Vietnam is among the countries with the strongest development in terms of growing the renewable energy market, attracting the interest and investment of foreign investors, and emerging as a vital link in the global supply chain.
As a major shareholder of PV Power REC, PVA Energy Solutions will strive to engage, collaborate, and entice foreign investors. Additionally, PVA Energy Solutions will continue to support PV Power and PV Power REC in their future development of renewable energy power plants.

Kim Jong Kyu, general director of 60Hertz, shared during the event that energy conversion is not only essential to combating climate change, but also plays a significant role in terms of laying the groundwork for shared prosperity in Asia, particularly between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea.
The signing ceremony, which took place immediately after the speeches, honoured the hard work and commitment of every member from every company, organisation, and stakeholder representative in the hopes that the three parties' collaboration would lead to fresh opportunities in the renewable energy sector.
