The inauguration ceremony was solemnly held on October 30. In response to the trend and the need to promote the use of clean energy, PV Power has partnered with EN Technologies (Korea) in order to both research and develop a charging station system nationwide. Following a period of research, installation, and testing in accordance with technical and safety requirements, a charging station at No. 6 Huynh Thuc Khang street in Hanoi formally started commercial operation as of November 1, 2024.

The 120kW charging station features two CCS2 charging ports that work with the majority of modern electric vehicle models. It accepts quick payments via a QR code scan through the client's bank, is open around-the-clock, and provides a hotline number for customer service and assistance.

Customers can charge their electric vehicles for free during the first week of operation, which runs from November 1 to November 8. Following this time frame, the cost of charging an electric car is as follows: Peak hour pricing is at 6,174 VND/kWh, off-peak pricing is at 2,830 VND/kWh, and normal pricing is at 4,007 VND/kWh (VAT excluded).
The pilot project at N0 6 Huynh Thuc Khang street in Hanoi for electric car charging stations provides a starting point for PV Power's investigation and expansion of the charging station network, which is anticipated to reach 1,000 locations countrywide.

Nguyen Duy Giang, deputy general director of PV Power, said during the ceremony that the corporation will keep researching and implementing cutting-edge technologies in a bid to increase the overall effectiveness and service capacity of charging stations in the future. The launch of the electric vehicle charging station will also signal the start of PV Power's long-term strategy as it strives to promote renewable energy use and reduce environmental pollution.
Following the cutting of the ribbon to officially open the charging station, representatives went to test-charge electric cars there.
Established in May, 2007, PV Power operates as a joint stock company, with 79.94% of its shares held by the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam). PV Power is now in charge of seven power plants, comprising of four gas-fired power plants, one coal-fired power plant, two hydropower plants, and several solar power projects. These power plants have a combined installed capacity of 4,209.6 MW, which represents roughly 6% of the national system's overall capacity. To date, PV Power has generated and delivered more than 250 billion kWh to the national electricity grid system. |
