Following the direction of the Prime Minister in ensuring electricity supply for post-Covid-19 production economic recovery, PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power) is actively implementing solutions to maintain the safety and efficiency of power plants. PV Power is a member unit of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam), one of the leading power producers in the country with total installed capacity of 4,205 MW, accounting for about 6% of the installed capacity of the whole system. At the same time, PV Power is also the leading gas power producer in Vietnam, managing and operating 4 plants including: Nhon Trach 1, Nhon Trach 2 and Ca Mau 1 & 2 with a total capacity of 2,700 MW. From the beginning of the year until now, in the context of increasing input fuel such as oil, gas and coal, PV Power has always made efforts to ensure sufficient fuel, safe and efficient operation of power plants. In the first quarter of 2022, PV Power exceeded the set target of electricity output and total revenue. Specifically, the total electricity output of the Corporation in the first quarter of 2022 reached 3,661 million kWh, equaling to 137% of the plan. Total revenue of the Corporation is estimated at 7,223 billion VND, equaling to 163% of the plan. Profit before tax of the Corporation reached 751.5 billion VND. In which Nhon Trach 1, Nhon Trach 2, Ca Mau 1 & 2, Dakdrinh power plants have all exceeded the assigned power output targets.

It is expected that the whole country will be short of electricity in this year's hot season, PV Power has planned to be ready to ensure fuel and input materials for maximum operation of power plants. Besides, during the rainy season, when a lot of hydroelectricity is mobilized, PV Power will repair and maintain gas power plants in order to take advantage of time and maintain the high availability of existing power plants, in which, actively researching solutions, applying technical improvement initiatives to shorten the repair and maintenance time of power plants while ensuring stability and efficiency. In addition, PV Power continues to research to develop renewable energy power projects besides investing and developing other projects such as LNG Quang Ninh, Nhon Trach 3 & 4... to be in line with the development strategy of PV Power and to contribute to creating a "green - clean" energy source for the socio-economic development of the country. Previously, PV Power has completed in building its Development Strategy to 2025, with a vision to 2035, focusing on developing gas-fired thermal power (including LNG), promoting the development of renewable energy (renewable energy) , solar power, floating solar power in the reservoir of hydroelectricity power plants.

In 2021 only in terms of renewable energy development, PV Power has completed investing in 5 rooftop solar power projects in Ba Ria - Vung Tau and Ca Mau province with a capacity of 4.5 MWP. At the same time, completing the contract to supply and install the rooftop solar power system at the headquarters of Hanoi Petroleum Joint Stock Company (PVOIL Hanoi). The whole country has begun to enter the hot season, the demand for electricity of people and businesses is increased. In order to ensure electricity for people's needs as well as ensure enough electricity for economic recovery, PV Power always determines to make efforts to overcome difficulties, deploys effective solutions to safely and stably operate power plants, ensuring power on the national electricity grid to contribute to the country's socio-economic development.
