On 17th May 2017, in Hanoi city, PVPower solemnly hosted a ceremony to mark 10 years of establishment.
Attending the ceremony were Mr. Trinh Dinh Dung, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister. Mr. Pham Tan Cong- Deputy of Secretary of Central Business Sector. Mr. Le Hong Tinh - Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly’s Science & Technology and Environment Committee. Mr. Dang Huy Cuong - General Director of General Directorate of Energy, Mr.Tran Doan Tien - Editor in Chief of Communist Party of Vietnam Newspaper. Mr. Dang Thanh Hai Deputy President of VINACOMIN, Mr. Nguyen Tai Anh Deputy - President of EVN.

Attending the ceremony on behalf of the PetroVietnam and PVPower were Mr. Nguyen Vu Truong Son – President & CEO. Mr. Ho Cong Ky – Chairman of Board of Management of PVPower, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Hoa - President & CEO of PVPower.
The ceremony was also attended by leaders of central agencies, ministries, PetroVietnam, partners of PVPower and PV Power leaders over the periods and all staffs from the office, divisions and units under PV Power.

10 year ago, under the Government’s permission, PV Power was established with the main tasks on electricity production and business while taking part in the development of electricity supply. PVPower has aimed to become a strong industry & commercial and prestige Corporation in local & South East area.
Throughout the 10 years of its development, PV Power has gradually become a special category Corporation. All employees over the peiod have been always working diligently, overcoming the various difficulties, challenges in order to complete the assigned task in the best manner; to develop comprehensively and to become the second largest power provider in Vietnam, come after EVN in electricity production.
PV Power has honored 26 typical employees.
Today, The current installation capacity of 4.208 MW, equivalent to 12% of the whole country’s capacity, increasing by 5.6 times compared to that of the beginning phase. It is also a biggest gas thermal power production firm of the country with the total capacity of 2.700MW.
Until April 2017, 138 billion kWh of electricity has been produced and generate to national grid, power production of over 21 billion kWh/year, equivalent to 13% of the whole country’s capacity Especially, PV Power is always willing to take its full responsibility among the community – contributing substantially to social security, taking care of the employee’s life. During the past time, PV Power has contributed an amount of 50 billion dong /year, along with Vietnam Fatherland Front is effectively implementing the social security issues of the country.
Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung recognized, appreciated and praised PVPower laborers for their achievements. Deputy Prime Minister has also affirmed that the efficiency and growing up of PV Power when trying to become a second largest electricity supplier with total capacity of over 4,200MW, with the total turnover of 180,000 billion dong, profit before tax of 9,600 billions dong, and 808 billion dong was contributed to the State budget.
Deputy Prime Minister Trinh Dinh Dung has pointed out some issues that PV Power should take into consideration like production management, business, investment – making them become the necessary steps for effective sustainable development. The PV Power’s leaders need to mobilize all the possible resources in order to timely implement all the on-going coal-fired thermal power projects. And at the same time, studying the new projects for the coming time, being the core member to make the power industry become 1 of 5 essential fields of PetroVietnam. PV Power needs to actively implement the Corporation restructuring, intensively invest, clearly define the primary and subordinate career in order to make a suitable investment.
