Siemens Energy offers long-term maintenance services to Ca Mau 1&2 Power Plant Project

PetroVietnam Power Corporation (PV Power) and Siemens Energy have signed a long-term maintenance and repair contract for the main equipment (LTMA) of the Ca Mau 1&2 Power Plant Project.

The signing ceremony took place on December 14 in Hanoi with the participation of Hoang Van Quang, chairman of the board of directors, and Le Nhu Linh, general director. They were joined by members of the board of directors; the board of supervisors; the board of general directors; along with leaders of functional departments and leaders of PV Power Ca Mau, PV Power TSC, and PV Power Services.

On the partner side were Je Jun Oh, managing director of Siemens Energy Gas Services for the Asia Pacific region, Vu Thu Giang, finance director of Siemens Energy, and other Siemens’ representatives.

The 1500 MW Ca Mau 1&2 power station has been in service since 2007. The following year, it entered into a long-term maintenance contract for the first 100,000 EOH with Siemens, the original equipment manufacturer of gas turbine units. For the following 80,000 EOH period, Siemens continued to be chosen through international bidding in order to supply periodic maintenance and repair services for the primary equipment block of the gas turbine cluster of the Ca Mau 1&2 Power Plant.

On behalf of PV Power, Le Nhu Linh, general director of PV Power, expressed his happiness at the successful outcomes of the negotiation process between Siemens Energy and PV Power which has greatly benefited both parties. He hopes that Siemen and PV Power, with their experience, ability, and reputation, will work well together in order to clear up any remaining obstacles faced at the Ca Mau 1&2 power plant and to support future developments.

In their capacity as representatives of Siemens Energy, Je Jun Oh and Vu Thanh Giang also expressed gratitude to PV Power for its previous co-operation, promising to use their knowledge to ensure that Siemens will offer the best possible services and cutting-edge technology to PV Power generally, as well as the Ca Mau 1&2 power plant specifically.

A long-term contract to provide periodic maintenance and repair services for the main equipment of the Ca Mau power plant signed by PV Power and Siemens Energy is considered to be a significant milestone that builds on previous successes whilst establishing the foundation for future long-term collaboration between the two parties.
