A joint venture contractor of Siemens Energy Global and Siemens Energy Vietnam Co., Ltd. won the contract for the long-term maintenance combined cycle power plant for the next 100,000 equivalent operating hours (EOH) for the Nhon Trach 2 Power Plant through open international bidding. They will therefore offer long-term maintenance and repair services for key equipment blocks of the plant over the course of the following 12 years.

Siemens Energy, who had previously provided and installed the main equipment during Nhon Trach 2's development, is said to be the rationale for the selection. Over the past 12 years, the group has also offered maintenance services to the plant. Future long-term maintenance and repair services from Siemens Energy are therefore anticipated to ensure the plant's dependability, availability, and productivity. It also serves to create a solid foundation for the safe and efficient operation of the Nhon Trach 2 Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Hai lauded the close ties that exist between PV Power NT2 and Siemens Energy in performing routine maintenance and repairs on key equipment blocks of Nhon Trach 2 Power Plant in the first 100,000 EOH. The two sides have surmounted numerous obstacles and hardships, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic's initial years. Mr Hai therefore believes that Siemens Energy will continue to successfully overhaul the Nhon Trach 2 Power Plant for the next 100,000 EOH in 2023, sustaining the long-standing success and strong working relationship. This will ensure the plant's safe and effective operation, as well as the successful implementation of the signed contract moving forward.

In the wake of these accomplishments, "We will work to complete the 100,000 EOH overhaul this year and the next 100,000 maintenance cycles, making another successful contract, and promoting the effective cooperation between the two parties," they said.
