In November 2022, Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant is expected to complete the installation, conduct test run, and soon put Unit 1 into safe and stable operation again after the shutdown.
Under the direction of PetroVietnam Power Corporation, the Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant and foreign experts quickly handled technical problems to put Unit 1 back into operation soon.
Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant (Ha Tinh Petrovietnam Power Company) is the largest coal-fired power plant in the Central region, consisting of two units with total capacity of 1,200 MW. In September 2021, Unit 1 encountered a technical problem and had to temporarily shut down until now.
Talking to Nhadautu.vn, Mr. Nguyen Duy Manh - Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Petrovietnam Power Company said: "Over the past time, Ha Tinh Petrovietnam Power Company built a plan and quickly deployed to fix the problem of Unit 1. In order to put the unit into operation as planned soon, the plant organized a contractor selection process and signed a contract with foreign contractors including: Toshiba (Japan) for supply of materials and Sulzer (Indonesia) for implementation of the troubleshooting plan”.
Regarding the troubleshooting plan, Mr. Nguyen Quy Kien - Head of Technical Department, Ha Tinh Petrovietnam Power Company said: "The company is implementing the signed contract with the contractors. It is expected that until November 14, 2022, experts and contractors will focus on installation, then conduct a test run, to put Unit 1 into safe and stable operation again soon.
At this time, while organizing unit troubleshooting, Vung Ang 1 Thermal Power Plant has focused on maintenance of the entire system of Unit 1, ensuring safety and stability when operating the unit is operating again.
