PV Power executives receive two international awards for the Nhon Trach 3&4 Power Plant at the POWER Awards 2026 in Washington, D.C. in the United States.
On September 28, POWER Magazine held the POWER Awards 2026 ceremony in Washington, D.C. as part of the Experience POWER event. Nhon Trach 3&4 Power Plant, developed by PV Power, a subsidiary of the Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group (Petrovietnam), claimed first prize in the “Top Plants: Fossil Fuels” category and was also named as “Plant of the Year.”
The plant successfully emerged from a rigorous evaluation process to become one of eight projects shortlisted in the “Top Plants: Fossil Fuels” category at the POWER Awards 2026. Most notably, it was the sole Vietnamese representation to feature, competing alongside projects from the US, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, and Pakistan, marking a significant international achievement for PV Power at the POWER Awards 2026.
The two awards represent a notable milestone for PV Power, with a local LNG-fired power project receiving recognition from an international awards programme organised by POWER Magazine, which has a history spanning more than four decades. The “Top Plants” award recognises power projects distinguished by their importance, innovation, and excellence in design and technology, as well as significant improvements in equipment, operations, and performance. In addition, the “Plant of the Year” award honours a power plant that has demonstrated successful deployment of cutting-edge technology while simultaneously optimising efficiency whilst minimising its environmental impact.
Nhon Trach 3&4’s recognition at the POWER Awards 2026 carries significance beyond the scope of an award for a single power project. It can be seen as a stride forward for PV Power in developing large-scale LNG-fired power facilities, utilising advanced technology and satisfying strict engineering, management, and operational criteria ranging from investment and construction to commercial operation.
Behind these accolades lies the dedication of PV Power’s team of managers, engineers, and workers, all of whom have strived to bring to life an energy project of significant scale and demanding technological complexity. These accomplishments also show how closely PV Power coordinated efforts with its contractors, partners, and other stakeholders throughout the project's development and the process of bringing the plant into operation.
From Vietnam’s first LNG-fired power project to winning the “Top Plants: Fossil Fuels” and “Plant of the Year” awards in 2026, Nhon Trach 3&4 has become a new landmark in PV Power’s development journey. The recognition from POWER Magazine therefore underscores PV Power’s capabilities in investing in, managing, and operating high-technology power projects, while also giving a Vietnamese energy company a more prominent position within the global energy map.
