After 10 years of its development, PV Power has become a leading company in gas thermal power production, the second position in installation capacity of 4.208 MW, equivalent to 12% of the whole country’s capacity. PV Power is standing second only to Vietnam Electricity Group with over 130 billion kWh has been generated to national grid, estimated at Dec 31 2016.
With total charter capital of 21,774 billion dong (Dec 31 2016), 2300 well-trained staff, PV Power has listed on top of the 500 largest Vietnamese enterprises. Revenue of 26,552 billion dong in 2016, increased 12% compared to 2015, accumulated since its establishment is 1690.18 billion dong. Profit before tax is 1.753 billion in 2016, over 159% compared to set forth plan. The gross accumulated is 7.720 billion dong.

Thanks to the efficiency of its investments, the Corporation has been able to make contributions to the national economic growth, to ensure the energy security of the country through power generation. The operation of PV Power’s projects has produced possitive impact on the development of many other economic enterprises in the country, promoted the socio-economic development, raised budget collections and provided employment to laborers in various localities where the Corporation built and operated power plants, in the North, Central and Southern regions. The Corporation has, in the initial stage, helped form industrial zones, which were closely linked to the plants of the Corporation, such as in Dong Nai, Nghe An – Ha Tinh – Ca Mau... Particularly, in areas which faced with economic difficulties, apart from power supply, the Corporation has also helped improve and promote the economic development of the mountainous areas. In this connection, the contribution by the Corporation bears great significance in the political, social, security and national defense sense.
Participation in Vietnam Competitive Generation Market.
The participation in competitive electricity generation market has made the Corporation increased training staff and promote officer ability.During the participation of PV Power in Vietnam Competitive generation market, by its best effort, PV Power team has always strived to maximize the profit within technical and operational conjunctions which are including minimizing the number of starts for thermal power plants and using efficient water - the limited primary natural resource for hydropower plants.
After 5 years participate in competitive generation market, PV Power has always completed the assigned task by the Government and PetroVietnam and met the target of production, revenue, profit and contribute to state budget. Especially the annual production proficiency of the first PV Power Plants, namely Nhon Trach power plant 1 & 2 (the ratio of profits after tax/capital of the owner) always reaches 22 to 30%.
Moreover, the Corporation has also participated in providing power services, maintenance work to power plants. It has also joined in supplying and ensuring a stable and long-term source of coal to thermal power plants.
Up to now, PV Power has been able to master modern technology, effectively running advanced equipment and gradually replacing foreign contractors. It can manage the regular repair work, the medium and large-scale maintenance of the thermal power plants. PV Power now can readily provide services to all power plants throughout the country.
PV Power is always willing to take its full responsibility among the community – contributing substantially to social security. PV Power has contributed an amount of 50 billion dong/year, along with the party committee, leaders of the Corporation, and the Youth Union are effectively implementing the social welfare issues.
The achievements of PV Power in 10 year construction & development has been recognized, appreciated and praised by the Party, Government of Vietnam.
The overall objectives of the Corporation are also approved by the Government and endorsed by the PVN, the oil & gas power industry is 1 of 5 essential fields of PetroVietnam, in which the total installed capacity is 9.100 MW, total output generate to national grid is over 45 billion kWh at the year 2020, that will open up more opportunities to PV Power for development and diversity energy sources including among others, gas-fired power, coal-fired thermal power, hydropower and clean sources of energy...
In the coming time, the Corporation will maximize internal resources; to build and develop PV Power into a strong, dynamic and competitive power & related service supplier, with the focus on power production, strengthened its brand and competitiveness in South East area and international.
